How to Choose a Jeweler
|
|
Many people never really think about having their own
personal jeweler, yet it is so obvious that this is one person you need to have
in your little black book as much as anyone else. Adding a jeweler to your
rolodex at work will make it easier on you when you need to grab a gift in
hurry and your jeweler can have it wrapped and waiting. So, how do you choose a
jeweler?
Jewelry stores love to have a regular customer and if you can
find a jewelry designer in your home town, then you will likely find a
wonderful friendship waiting to be born. You should certainly add a jeweler to
your address book so that you never forget that special last minute anniversary
gift that you almost forgot. Some people might ask why you need to have a
jeweler in your little black book and without waiting for answer, consider
this. You have your barber and your drycleaners listed and these people are in
the service business. A jeweler is an important number to have available too
even though they are in the retail business because they will certainly be
doing you a great service when they keep you from sleeping in the doghouse over
another forgotten occasion!
When choosing a jeweler, you first need to
do your homework and ask around. You will quickly find that many people do
indeed have a jeweler in their rolodex that they can recommend to you when you
are ready to go down and make a purchase. Once you meet the jeweler and his or
her staff, make a decision if you like them well enough to become a regular
customer. If you do, then you need to simply tell them that you are going to
add them to your little address book and that you would like to be able to call
them for last minute needs from time to time.
Now , if you really want
to get a jeweler excited , let a few days pass and call him to have him wrap up
a little something to surprise your wife and let him know you'll stop by after
work and pick it up. Given the fact that you should have told the jeweler what
type of jewelry your wife likes, then he should have no trouble in picking out
something really nice for her and have it waiting.
Hopefully , when you
went through the process of elimination in your search for a jewelry store ,
you made it a point to pick a store which had flexible hours to accommodate
your needs. Also , you want to be sure that the jewelry store is open on
weekends , at least on Saturday.
You should tell the jeweler to always
call you if something comes in that he or she thinks you may be interested in
and to always let you know of any special sales. See, this is the beginning of
a new and wonderful friendship. |
